Kinver & West Midlands Society of Model Engineers
The Kinver & West Midlands Society of Model Engineers are based in Legion Way, and are open most Sundays after Easter up to November from 14:00 until 17:00. The whistle of the model steam engines can be heard around the village, as the trains puff around the 215ft, 5″ and 3 1/2″ gauge and the new 7 1/4″ guage tracks.
The society has been based at the current site in Kinver for 50 years, although the society can trace it’s origins back to the 1920′s. This year shall be their 50th anniversary, and they will be celbrating over the weekend 28th and 29th of July with:
- a celebrity opening the event
- Vintage cars
- Vintage motorbikes
- Model traction engines
- Full size traction engine(s)
- Exhibition
- Trade stands
- Refreshments
And most importantly train rides!! Details are to be confirmed.
The society host regular presentations and lectures throughout the winter months. If you’d like to become involved in the society, then you would be made very welcome. Just pop along on a Sunday afternoon, or contact via their website
