Our MP's expense claims

In case anyone is still following this, a summary of the expenses claimed by Sir Patrick Cormack (Con, South Staffs) can be found on the parliamentary website {link}. There is also a neat summary on the BBC website {link}, where you can look up other MPs.

Unfortunately (?), although not whiter than white, I can't see too much wrong with our MP's claims. £1,000pcm for a rented flat in central London actually seems fair enough to me, though if I were in charge (perish the thought ) I'd force all MP's from outside greater London to live in state-owned, standard accomodation. Does that make me a communist ?

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Any spare accomodation in London is probably already earmarked to rehome the Sangatte/Calais Refugees should the French finally close The Jungle camp at the end of 2010
