    Default Ricky Gervais

Am I alone in thinking that this sweaty individual is one of the unfunniest people around! That he can be considered as one of the funniest comics alive is an insult to those great comics dead and alive such as Frankie Howerd,Benny Hill,M & Wise,Tony hancock,Peter kay etc.

To be honest, with the possible exception of a few M&W sketches.. the "great comics" that you name are hardly side-splitting.. Peter Kay!? I've had funnier surgery!

Bill Hicks, Lenny Bruce, Richard Prior... these were great comics..

Never 'got' Bill Hicks, I've tried, but nothing he does makes me laugh out loud. I found Dennis Leary funnier and as he essentially copied Hicks it must be down to delivery or something. M&W made me howl with laughter, Peter Kay was funny once but as his show has essentially stayed the same for ten years it's kinda worn off.

But back to the topic, Gervais consistently makes me giggle, I think he's ace so I reckon this proves one thing : "One man's meat".

Sorry, you'll need to run that by me again!?

What does my Username have to do with my taste in stand up comedy?

Personally; I've always gained more pleasure from what would be considered by many, to be more "difficult" artists e.g. - give me Tom Waits over The Beatles or Tarkovsky over Spielberg any day of that week.

The mainstream is without question...where the most sh*t is dumped...
