Kinver is still open: How to get here...

Throughout 2010, Kinver will be transformed with a new High Street and an investment of nearly one million pounds. However, even though the roadworks will no-doubt cause disruption, it has to be stressed that the village will remain open and welcomes visitors throughout the year.

All car parks will remain open and in fact, the only major disruption will be up until April with the closure of Stone Lane to Vicarage Drive, but throughout the works all the car parks will be available - you just need to know how to get here, so here's the plan...

Section one : Stone Lane to Berkeley car park

During this phase, the road will be closed completely from January for about seven weeks and then again in April for about three weeks.

This phase sees the road from the bottom of Stone Lane through to the Berkeley car park completely closed off to vehicular traffic. If you need access to the High Street then the diversion is back up Enville Road, right into Hyde Lane, Bridgnorth Road to the A449 then Dunsley Lane, Mill Lane and then back into the High Street.

Pedestrians are unaffected.

Section two : Berkeley car park to Vicarage Drive

Closed at the end of February for around seven weeks and then again in April/May for about four weeks. Car parking is available on either side of the works so only through traffic affected. Use the diversion in the document above to get to the other side.

Section three : Vicarage Drive to Mill Lane

Due to the size of the road, there will be traffic lights and so all frontages and through traffic will simply be delayed. All car parks remain open and again, pedestrians are unaffected.
