High Street Open!

Due to National Grid completing their part of Phase 1 early, the High Street will be open to through traffic until the 6th April 2010. 
 
The original plan was for the District Council to dovetail in behind National Grid and the road was to be closed until Mid May whilst the District Council completed their part of phase 1.
 
However the road will be open until the 6th April and will then be closed for 2 weeks from Stone Lane to the Berkley Car Park, and then this stretch will reopen and from the Berkley Car park to Vicarage Drive will be closed for 2 weeks taking us up to early May (as long as they do not encounter any problems).
 
After this time there may be odd closures for short periods of time whilst they are installing the pinch points, but in the main traffic should be able to drive through and there may be traffic light controls.
