Spotted this morning .....

One Traffic Warden popping a ticket upon the windscreen of a car in the Acre Car Park.....

The plonker of the car owner had parked diagonally over two parking spaces.

The reason for this post???? I think it is about time the traffic wardens are seen in our village. Hopefully the prats that double park outside the spar might get the hints.

Hope one of the first to get nicked is driving a bloody great Audi - has long hair - a gruff voice & is worth £90+ million and always struggles to find enought cash to buy a pint in the Steps..........no prizes for guessing who he is!!

I also saw a Traffic warden in the Ten acre car park, couple of weeks back. Happily ticketing a large commercial van, parked correctly, but the small print of the car park say "no large vans".
Though I have no problem with Traffic wardens doing there job, where exactly are trademen expected to park in the village nowadays if working on the high street?

Personnaly I'd like to see the traffic warden on the High street, ticketing ppl onthe double yellows, not hiding in the car parks.

I agree with PaulL

I remember a few months back, a guy was parked on yellows outside the Spar. One of the P.C.S.O.s appeared over the road. He shouted to her asking if he was o.k. for a few minutes. She replied "Nothing to do with me now mate!"

It seems silly that they don't have the power to issue fixed penalty notices for parking offences as they are probably around more frequently than the traffic warden.

The Police & CPSC's have no powers to issue FPT's any longer other than for "Obstruction"

As for the "Double Yellows" mentioned by PaulL- I'm advised that these are "unenforceable" because if you look closely there are still wall mounted signs saying that "Parking is Permitted for 45 minutes with No Return within Two Hours"

Let's face it. The current High Street layout is redundant and NEEDS to be returned to it's previous system. It wasn't perfect but it was so much better than at present.
