Efforts for Best Kept Village

Much of the village's trade is based on toursim; how can we improve it?

Got to agree with those sentiments.

Lets hope the 'Flower Tubs' are stocked for the summer and 'properly maintained' by our Parish Council Maintenance Team............................

Think if we all do 'our bit' we will no doubt, have a very well kept village, but whether or not it's the best, is yet to be seen (let's see what drain contractors make of their clear-up when works have been completed)!!

This topic was posted 5 years ago,but can Kinver be a serious contender once again, given the total disregard for the environment by a group of youngsters who regularly frequent the clock tower bus shelter which is supposed to be the focal point of the village!
Well focal point it is and together with Danesford Gardens it is regularly desecrated by these urchins. There is no point in admonishing them as they have been trained by the media and presumably their parents to stand up for their 'rights'!
Efforts to do so have been swept aside. They congregate early evenings and leave a trail of litter and debris resembling a war zone in Damascus! A good natured resident has been seen to spend time clearing up after them in Danesford Gardens.Pam you know who you are.
Let's cut to the chaste here and get the judges of the Best Kept Village Award down to Kinver in the early evening to witness such activities and put the village out of its misery.
These youngsters constantly negate the good work done by the Rotary Club and others.Do their parents know what they do or do they care? The kids obviously like the environment enough to trash it.How about an age limit on the use of the shelter after 4pm or admission with a responsible adult only.
I throw down the gauntlet now or we might as well concede any award to somewhere deserving such as Brewood! On this showing the village is a disgrace!!

I assume you have read or are reading the thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=771

I spent a good tewn minutes this evening picking up drosd from the Clock Shelter.
Why did I bother?
I don't really know
Was I wasting my time?
Probably
Is there any point?
Probably not

Bearing in mind most of the little creatures throw down chip papers, how about asking the chippy to give them a leaflet requesting that they use the bins! They can always throw the leaflet on the floor!
Failing that, stink bombs or cover the shelter with tacks as most of them travel by pavement bike to the crime scene!
Slow setting super glue!
How about some radical action and get a member of the police force to swoop on them! After all they could send 3 officers to a harmless garden party recently .
No I still believe we should concede in The Best Kept Village completion this year in the hope that the reason why is fully brought to light and the problem addressed!!
Oh for a Charles Bronson character to do his vigilante act!

Well, we could pop a mosquito in the shelter, turn it on at night : http://www.compoundsecurity.co.uk/mosqu ... -multi-age

Or even just play classical music constantly through a small speaker so only those inside will hear it. Children barf and Bach so it might put them off.

Rolf Harris singing 'Two Little Boys' on a cycle. At least he would have a chance of finishing it instead of being cut dead by Dudley's finest Lenny Henry at the Jubilee Concert!!!
